The Scottish Landscape Awards is a biennial event open to anyone over 16 years born, living or studying in Scotland, and for works in any media – painting, drawing, printmaking, collage, all forms of sculpture, animation, textiles, photography, installation, video, multi-media, virtual reality landscapes – and more.
The 2025 Scottish Landscape Awards exhibition will be held at the Kirkcudbright Galleries, from 5 July to 28 September 2025. Kirkcudbright Galleries is a brand new gallery of national significance, located in the ‘Artists’ Town’ of Kirkcudbright in south-west Scotland. A guaranteed footfall of 20,000 visitors will see the exhibition over the summer months.
For works in any media by individuals or teams of artists
Works entered for the Scottish Landscape Awards may be imaginary, surreal, abstract, documentary, ecological, realistic – anything is possible as long as the work carries a strong sense of place or context. We seek works that reflect all dimensions of natural and/or synthetic environments – rural, urban, industrial, suburban, forest, mountain and seascapes, interior/exterior, minute/enlarged and more.
Please note: Because we get several enquiries on this issue: To be eligible you must be over 16 years and have been born or currently living or studying in Scotland. Being a frequent visitor, previous resident or previous student in Scotland does not qualify you for entry.
